  • City-level location only – We may request access to your device’s location services to display your city name on generated stickers (e.g., “San Francisco, CA”)
  • You control this – Location access is entirely optional and can be denied or revoked at any time in your device settings
  • No precise location tracking – We do not collect, store, or transmit your precise GPS coordinates or track your movements

Device Information

  • Timezone (to determine when the app unlocks at 3:50-4:45 AM in your local time)
  • Device time and date (to validate session timestamps)
  • Device language and region settings

Technical Information

  • App version
  • Device model and operating system version (for compatibility and crash reporting)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to provide and improve the 4AM Club experience:

Core Functionality:

  • Determine when to unlock the app based on your local timezone (3:50-4:45 AM)
  • Record your check-in sessions and maintain your streak count
  • Generate personalized sticker graphics with your session data (date, time, city, streak)
  • Display your session history and statistics
  • Export your data if you request it

App Improvement:

  • Anonymous crash reports to fix bugs and improve stability
  • Anonymous usage analytics to understand which features are most valued (if you opt in)

We Do NOT Use Your Information To:

  • Track you across other apps or websites
  • Build an advertising profile
  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Share your information with other users (unless you explicitly choose to share stickers)

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

Your data lives on your device. All session records, streak information, and generated stickers are stored locally in your device’s secure app storage. We do not transmit this data to our servers or any third-party servers.

Cloud Backup (Optional)

If you enable iCloud backup on your iOS device, your 4AM Club data may be included in your iCloud backups. This is controlled by your device’s iCloud settings, not by the app. We recommend reviewing your iCloud settings if you have privacy concerns.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • All data stored on your device is protected by iOS’s built-in encryption
  • Any network communication (if future features require it) uses HTTPS encryption
  • We do not store passwords or authentication credentials (the app requires no account)

Delete Your Data

You have the right to delete your data at any time:

  • Delete individual sessions: Swipe to delete in session history
  • Delete all data: Use “Reset Account” in app settings
  • Uninstall the app: Deleting the app from your device removes all locally stored data

Revoke Permissions

You can revoke app permissions at any time through your device settings:

  • Location Services: iOS Settings > Privacy > Location Services > 4AM Club
  • Notifications: iOS Settings > Notifications > 4AM Club

Children’s Privacy

4AM Club is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

The app is rated 4+ on the App Store due to its simple, non-objectionable content, but the intended audience is adults seeking to build productive morning habits.

Analytics and Tracking

No Third-Party Tracking

We do not use third-party analytics services that track you across apps and websites (e.g., Facebook SDK, Google Analytics with advertising features).

Optional Anonymous Analytics

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve the app, such as:

  • Which sticker templates are most popular
  • Average session frequency
  • App crash reports

This data is:

  • Anonymous (not linked to you personally)
  • Aggregated (combined with all other users)

We do not retain data on our servers because we don’t collect it in the first place (local-first architecture).
